An FO . . .
In the last few days, I’ve been working on syllabi, class websites, and lecture notes. Everything’s about set and I’m feeling comfortably prepared—or will be once I finish responding to some Master’s level thesis prospectus drafts and actually have Monday’s lecture in the box.
In the meantime, knitting has consisted of one object, and it’s finished:
It’s […]

LookieLookieLookie! (aka: Lace Swap Package)
Just a little while ago, I walked down to the mailbox to see what junk mail had arrived for the day and walked back with a Global Priority envelope from Michigan. You have to understand that was a bit of a surprise; we don’t normally get real mail on Saturdays and I’d really only checked […]

Storing pointy sticks
I realized recently that knitting needles are rather like socks. They aren’t put into the dryer, but inevitably one turns up missing somewhere along the way. If you tend to use circulars instead of DPNs, then they like to disappear two at a time.
The problem of the disappearing pointy sticks has, thankfully, not been a […]

Miriam Felton’s Lightweight Mountain Peaks shawl . . .
You’ve simply got to check this out . . . Miriam submitted her Lightweight Mountain Peaks shawl and the Salt Lake County Fair and did more than come away with the blue ribbon. Actually, she came away with five—count them, five—and the “Exhibitor of the Year” award. Check out her post about […]

An excellent day
Today has just been full of good news. Sue got her package, and thanks to Donna’s hubby, Miriam Felton’s online shop is now cosmetically correct.
I love it when good things happen.

She got it!
I just got a note from Sue, my lace swap pal, telling me that she received her package! Woooohooooo! I’m laughing, though, because I’d thought I was so very clever and timed things in such a way that she’d receive the main package from me after she received the first two small packages from vendors. […]

Miriam needs help!
Correction (30 minutes later): I think help is already on the way. Knitters are SUCH cool people!
Hey, folks, Miriam Felton—that’s right, brilliant designer of the Icarus and Seraphim shawls—needs some help debugging her online shop. She long ago exceeded my limited abilities and needs to pick someone’s brains. Er, someone who has brains. […]

My niece sent me this one . . .
