September 5

Yesterday was Janice’s birthday.

It was also my youngest brother’s birthday (pappa to new nephew Dane Aaron).

I celebrated by making a quick run to the LYS and getting myself some blue and white yarn for a pair of Selbu mittens.

It dawned on me that knitters should have their own version of Jeff Foxworthy. We may not necessarily speak with the same accent (although I proved I could to a group of Norwegian students on Monday night and I’m now fairly certain they aren’t entirely certain about me at all), but we most certainly should have a “You know you’re a knitter when” list. For instance:

You know you’re a knitter when you use someone else’s birthday as an excuse to buy yarn.

Vance? Well, he got clothes and an Amazon splurge-certificate. Much less interesting than yarn. ;-)

I love being an enabler. And I once worked with Jeff Foxworthy! (He was a nice guy.)
