An epiphany

I’ve realized that the number of hair dressers who can cut curly hair decreases exponentially in relation to how desperately a curly-haired person needs a hair cut.   Look for someone who can cut curly hair when you happen to be in a country which has traditionally had a population of straight hair (in this case, the Nordic blonde), and you’re in even more trouble.

Sigh.  I’m beginning to bear a strong resemblance to a bad remake of Disney’s “The Shaggy Dog” and the last good cut I had was when I was home in Tallahassee.  Jeff at Patty’s Place is marvelous with curl, and if I were independently wealthy, I’d make a trip stateside every 8 weeks just for a haircut.

In the meantime, the going rate here is 70usd for a bad cut.  I’m seriously considering taking the scissors to it myself . . . or trying the ethnic salon.  The texture may be different than what they normally get, but they couldn’t do any worse.

Ok, that’s my rant for the day.  :-)
