Thank you for the beautifully written post. Love that hairy arm analogy... :-)

Ah, beads! I have no desire to spin beads as yet, though knitting with them is on my "to do" list. Maybe when I can spin regular ol' yarn as "inconsistently" as you....

A shimmery shawl - nice.

Your beaded yarn turned out great, I like the way the beads blend so well with the yarn, very understated.

I have wondered if adding beads make it harder to maintain yarn consistency. The thought of continually stopping the spinning process to add beads has put me off trying. That and the overwhelming array of beads out there.

Well done! The beads look like dew drops in your picture. Lovely effect.

The one time I made beaded yarn, I used thread as the bead carrier. I actually tied the beads on (just a quick overhand knot) at more or less regular intervals. They I used the beaded thread as a third strand in a 3-ply yarn. It worked fine, but my color choices weren't as inspired as yours. :)

I owe you an email back, but I really love your beaded yarn! I know you think the beads blend too well, but I really like the subtle effect they give. :)
