A small plug

While I was stateside, I had the great fortune to be given a bar of soap from Goodies Unlimited.  Shirley included it in the box of raw alpaca and wool she swapped me for my cross-stitch patterns and supplies, and I simply fell in love with it. This from the gal who typically doesn’t care for scented soaps and who normally can’t use them.  It was Rosemary Lemon Silk, and I have to tell you that it’s wonderful.  I put it in the plastic box where I’m keeping all my handspun, and the scent has made nearly everyone who’s handled the handspun take deep breaths and give the yarn back only reluctantly.  I’m convinced it’s half the reason they’ve been so positive about the yarn!  This paticular bar is fresh, clean, luxurious, and a bit spicy without being at all heavy.  Seriously, I’m infatuated with the stuff and I find myself wanting to stash it throughout the entire house.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered two more bars of the Rosemary Lemon so that I could put a bar in with my store-bought yarn and have one I could actually use for soap, as well as a bar of Lavender Fields (lavender/tea tree oil), StressFree Green Tea (green tea/aromatherapy), and Shea’s All That (lavender/vanilla).  When the envelope arrived, it was broken and four bars were missing.  It had been taped shut and put in a plastic bag, but there was no explanation, and I’m truly convinced that someone smelled the soaps and ran off with all but one of the two Rosemary-Lemons.  I was crushed, but Aubrey was brilliant and I’m now sitting here with replacement soaps—AND two lip balms which I’ve already tried and with which I am truly impressed.  Her generosity is incredible, but these soaps . . . these soaps are simply awesome.  This is one time when I really wish blogs and the Internet were fully interactive; a scratch-n-sniff would be perfect!  I’ll hold the bar up to the screen, but you’ll just have to imagine it, I’m afraid.

In all honesty, I’m not sure whether I should really thank Shirley for introducing me to the things, or blame her for finding me something I like so much I’m willing to pay international shipping!

Ooh, I have some of her Etomic Balm and it’s wonderful for sore spots! Also the solid lotion sticks are nice for travel and have a delicious smelling cocoa butter base. Gotta try some of the soaps, I’m a big lavender fan.
