Home

They say that you can’t go home again. Truthfully, it isn’t always easy. Home comes with its own stresses, strains, and adjustments. But they’re familiar things, and while I recognize that some people truly cannot go home and have good reasons for not wanting to do so, I’m not one of them.

There are disadvantages to living half a world away. Not having access to basic tools and supplies you’re accustomed to using, certain comfort foods, your favorite book stores and home supply shops, a full-sized grocery (and reasonable prices), a proper drugstore, and basic stores like Target and Wal-Mart is inconvenient, and often annoying. The loss of certain cultural and social groups and activities can leave you feeling isolated and adrift. The lack of a professional environment in your field of interest doesn’t precisely help. There are other things, however, which are more significant in their absence.

Mom

Going home can sometimes be difficult.

Leaving can often be harder.

I know the feeling but I cannot begin to imagine how much harder it can be having ones family so far away. Mine is only 55 minutes of airplane ride away, close enough for weekend trips. When I was younger it seemed like I couldn`t get back home to my own new life fast enough but now I tend to postpone returnong just so that I can get a couple of hours or maybe one evening more of time with my parents. Off course my siblings babys add to the decitions as well.
