The last SP9 package is bundled and ready to send. Rather, it’s bundled, and would have been ready to send had I realized that the box I picked up in a hurry last week was a tubular-triangular shaped thing which won’t work at all. Clever, eh? It’ll go into a bubble envelope in the morning and tomorrow’s mail. I have no idea whether she’ll like the things, but I’ve enjoyed the process once again.
Of course, I’ve also found lots of lovely stuff I want to do and even lovelier stuff I want to lay hands on, but I’m counting that as a positive thing, too. There are truly beautiful yarns and patterns, and some great spinning ideas, and it all turns into a learning experience which I’m absolutely thriving on. It’s almost better than cheesecake.
For myself, I’ve done this:
A wrist distaff. The color’s not great and the thing isn’t exactly beautiful, but you get the idea. I found myself getting tangled in the drafted roving as I span, and throwing it over my shoulder only allowed it to stick to my clothes. Wrapping it around my wrist made my arm sweat (and the roving stick to my arm), so I had an epiphany when someone on the spindlers list asked for the old pattern for a wrist distaff. Does it work? Yes! I can wrap a good chunk of roving on the fringe above the beads and it stays there nicely.
I do have other news, but I’ll save that for tomorrow. (evil grin)
